Online consultation of the VALUE AGEING project on the ethics of ICT for ageing

The purpose of this online consultation process for The VALUE AGEING project (Incorporating European Fundamental Values into ICT for Ageing: A vital political, ethical, technological, and industrial challenge) Work Package 7: Governance Issues and Policy Options is to collect valuable and diverse feedback from various groups of stakeholders relevant to the ICT for ageing sector on issues related to different policy options and governance models.

LINQ2014 - 3rd European Conference on Learning Innovations and Quality

The main goal of LINQ 2014 is to bring together a variety of academics and professionals active in the field of innovations and quality in lifelong learning (LLL). It will offer a platform for exchange on the latest developments in education and training innovations and quality on both a European and international level. Potential points of access to this field include new learning methods and design, technology-enhanced learning (TEL), quality standards and certification, human resources development, competences and skills, digital resources, learning materials, and online collaboration and communities.

Report on the 2nd Conference of Partners of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing, November 25 and 26 in Brussels

On Monday November 25 over 600 enthusiastic participants and other stakeholders of the Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing gathered in Brussels for the second Conference of Partners. They engaged in debates on the Innovation Partnership and its contribution to economic growth and job creation, and on scaling up its activities. Other sessions were devoted to the Action Groups' first year's results and next steps; and to horizontal issues.

Workshop: Managing AAL Complexity through Support for Interoperability

In 2011, 44 AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) projects with the involvement of ca. 200 organizations signed the Lecce Declaration, which caused the strategic and the operational plans of the EIP-AHA (European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Living) to include the C2 action group on interoperable independent living solutions. After more than two and a half years, this event aims at bringing the demand and supply side together in order to evaluate the achievements so far and collect recommendations for the way forward. The workshop will include three plenary sessions and two parallel tracks, one specific to the demand side and the other to the supply side.

Special attention to SMEs working in eHealth

Nowadays the EU is paying even more attention to small and medium sized enterprizes - a lot of good ideas and much needed innovation originate from SMEs. To help them out, the EU has reserved 20% of its total Horizon 2020 budget. In the eHealth domain two projects are focussing on giving SMEs a helping hand: GET and iLINC.

Clustering event on ambient technologies: the outcomes

Last September the Reaction consortium (FP7) brought together 25 European projects on ambient intelligence advanced technologies in support of healthcare and assisted living. The participants of the clustering event saw they had a lot in common and agreed to share their knowledge more often.
