Lea, a care robot, wins the Herman Wijffels innovation prize

Robot Care Systems, the company behind LEA, has won the prestigious Herman Wijffels prize in the Netherlands, which comes with a 30.000 reward. LEA is a care robot disguised as a rollator that provides a number of fully autonomous functions. It can assist the elderly person with getting out of bed or chair, with walking or with holding a cup. It monitors the daily routine such as the taking of medicine or of food and drink. LEA is also the tender that has won a pan-European Pre-Commercial Procurement under the EU-funded project Silver.
