European Film Forum Venice 2015

Boundaries between visual arts, film and business are being pushed. How to reinforce cross cultural and cross media dialogue to support the future of the European film industry and its talents? This question will be at the heart of the European Film Forum event "Cross Culture a driver for a Creative Europe". This event is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and the European Commission, with the support of the Creative Europe MEDIA programme. Two panels on "Short film as a driver of creativity, talent scouting and business" and "Crossovers from film to societal and economic change" will gather artists, producers, business leaders and political representatives.

Film Forum Sarajevo looks at how to boost the presence of European films in south-eastern Europe

The south-eastern European film sector is vital and growing, with remarkable creative talents emerging every year. Five films which have received EU investment are in the competition at this year's Sarajevo Film festival. Meanwhile, a recent report shows that up to 90 percent of cinema admissions in Romania and Bulgaria come from US films.A European Film Forum event will explore how the Creative Europe MEDIA programme can help European films reach audiences in south-eastern Europe.

But irrespective of a story's truthfulness, the rapid spread of such information through social networks and other online media can have immediate and far-reaching consequences. In such cases, large amounts of user-generated content need to be analysed quickly.

The European Film Forum goes to Sarajevo

The European Film Forum will be in Sarajevo this year to discuss the access for European films to cinema theatres in the region, and co-production in a borderless digital world. The Sarajevo film festival is the most important festival in the region, and the discussions will be within the framework of the Regional Forum.
