17 EU supported movies in the San Sebastian Films Festival Selection

EU Commissioner Oettinger holds Roundtable on Automated Driving in Frankfurt

Commissioner Gnther H. Oettinger met up with executives of automotive and telecommunications industry during the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) Frankfurt Motor Show, to discuss strategies on how deployment of connected automated driving can be accelerated. Both sectors committed to close cooperation and common roadmap development. Granny's dancing on the table and film audiences are in motion! EU Film showcased at the San Sebastian Film Festival

Seventeen films which have been awarded EU funding are competing in 63rd San Sebastian International Film Festival between 18 and 26 September. The European Commission has invested around 1,2 million through the Creative Europe MEDIA programme to support the development and distribution of these films. San Sebastian will also host the fifth event of the European Film Forum, which explores the current and future role played by cinema audiences.

Map recording threats to journalists in Europe relaunches and expands

Index on Censorship, the European Federation of Journalists and Reporters Without Borders have announced the expansion and redesign of Mapping Media Freedom, which records threats to journalists across Europe, and which will now also cover Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Mapping Media Freedom is one of the projects selected projects following the 2014 call for proposals in the field of violations of media freedom and pluralism.

Three EU-supported films awarded at the Venice film festival

Three films which have received EU funding have been awarded at the Venice film festival on Saturday 12 September. The European Commission has invested around 171,000 through the Creative Europe MEDIA programme to support the distribution of these films.
