Stakeholder Consultation on H2020 Work Programme 2018-2020 for Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing challenge

In preparation of the next H2020 Work Programme Societal Challenge 1 (SC1 - Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing), the European commission (DG CONNECT) is consulting with the SC1 Programme Committee, the SC1 National Contact Points and stakeholders. The National Contact Points together with the stakeholders in the respective countries will provide crucial input to this process covering all areas of the Work Programme, including ICT for Active and Healthy Ageing.

Commission prepares the ground for the end of roaming charges in June 2017

Today the European Commission adopted a proposal to set maximum wholesale roaming charges at € 0.04/min, € 0.01/SMS and € 0.85/MB in the EU. This is important to prepare the end of roaming charges for consumers set for 15 June 2017.

Report shows digital skills are required across all types of work, also for jobs outside the office

Today the European Commission publishes a report on the impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on job quality. Looking at the evidence from 12 specific types of non-office jobs, the report found that the use of digital technologies is beginning to have a profound effect on the tasks carried out and the skills required for many jobs outside the traditional office.

European project RECAP creates innovative platform to facilitate compliance with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)

A consortium of 12 partners in six European countries has launched a project to develop a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for improving the efficiency and transparency of the compliance with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) monitoring procedure. The RECAP project is supported by the EU programme on “ICT- enabled open government” until October 2018.
