Researchers of the EU-funded Sound of Vision project have won the Best Paper Award at XXI CIM, the 21st Colloquium on Music Informatics. The project is working on digital solutions that create and convey an auditory representation of the surrounding environment. This could assist visually impaired people.

Cardiac patients show high interest in technology enabled cardiovascular rehabilitation
E-cardiology, eHealth and digital solutions for physical activity uptake and monitoring have evolved rapidly, they also have potential in cardiovascular disease management. A survey among 310 cardiac patients made it clear what the current technology usage is of these patients, and their needs and interests for technology enabled cardiovascular rehabilitation.

Birth Day Prize - Win up to €1 million
This prize will be awarded to a novel solution that best demonstrates a reduction in maternal and/or newborn morbidity and mortality and/or stillbirths during facility-based deliveries. The European Commission has committed €1 million, with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation pledging another €1 million and a further €500,000 donated by the MSD for Mothers programme of Merck Sharp & Dohme Corporation.
